2026 comes with a bang!
January 2026 marked the beginning of my artist residency at TOSH, and I’m still taking it all in. My work is now living in Studio 6, where it will stay for the year, and I have the possibility of working there all day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just writing that still feels a little surreal.
These first four weeks have been about settling in: arranging things, making small messes, and getting comfortable in a space that already feels full of possibility. There’s something really special about knowing I can return to the same room week after week and let the work grow slowly.
I'm feeling a familiar mix of excitement and creative tension. After Art Vancouver, I'm considering including some summer art fairs, and I'd love to have many new pieces ready. There's a slight pressure regarding how much I want to create and how quickly time seems to be passing, but for now, I'm reminding myself to trust the pace of the work.
For now, I’m letting the residency be about presence more than production. About showing up, trusting the process, and allowing things to unfold layer by layer. If you’re nearby, I’d love for you to stop in and say hello. Come see what’s on the walls, what’s in progress, and what’s quietly taking shape.
