What? 12"x12"

$1,000.00

12” x 12” mixed media painting on wood panel

The magpie, with its glossy black-and-white feathers and sharp, beady eyes, thought itself quite the clever thief. It swooped from tree to tree, snatching up shiny trinkets—a coin here, a button there—stashing them away in a secret nook behind the garden shed. But one morning, it got sloppy. As it darted off with a glimmering silver key, it didn’t notice the gardener watching from the window. Later, when the gardener came to retrieve his missing tools, he found a chaotic pile of loot: bits of glass, bottle caps, jewelry, all hidden in a tangled mess. Caught in the act, the magpie sat on a branch nearby, head tilted as if to say, What? But the telltale shimmer of stolen treasures scattered across the ground gave away its mischief, and the bird flapped off in a huff, its little heist exposed.
