ciao from Italy…almost!
What a whirlwind of a couple of weeks—I hardly know where to begin!
Here goes:
I treated myself to a full-on manicure (enhanced nails and everything!). They look gorgeous, but typing, gardening, and even making art has become a hilarious challenge. All for the sake of looking my best at our nephew’s wedding this past weekend. So here I am, writing this email with the very tips of my fingernails, backspacing after almost every word because I keep missing the letters I actually want to type.
In spite of it all…
I ended up teaching a gel plate printing and collage class at our neighbor’s birthday party! Six super eager and creative 10-year-old girls joined me, and we had an absolute blast making art together. I wore disposable gloves to protect my nails (which still managed to break), but I stayed mostly clean. The girls had so much fun that I’m seriously considering putting together a little package to offer this as a birthday party activity.
What else is going on in my world?
We attended our nephew’s wedding in Manning Park, and it was absolutely beautiful. The setting was stunning. The trees framed those majestic mountains, sunlight created many different shades of green, and the lake sparkled. Canoes, paddleboards, and a bride and groom saying their vows. As night fell, the sky grew darker than I’ve ever seen, filled with the brightest stars. I couldn’t help but absorb it all, capturing moments to bring back to my studio and to feature in my Walking for Inspiration YouTube videos. I hope to have one ready before our trip to Italy—stay tuned!
…and then…
✨ Quick clarification: in my last email, I accidentally said these collages were 10"x10", they’re actually 8"x8". The price for YOU is $400 each until August 31. After that, starting September, the final price will be $750, in line with all my 8"x8" originals.
They’re framed, ready to hang, and waiting for a new home. And if you fall in love but want to spread out the cost, I’m happy to set up a simple payment plan to make it easy.

Four panels. One month. First come, first thrilled. 💫
In just a week… we’re off to Italy!
We’re deep in packing mode. I’m juggling “do everything possible for Silvina Lanusse Art” mode with “harvest all the basil and make enough pesto to last the year” mode. So much to do, so little time!
Oh, and yes, I’m already plotting 2026. I know which shows I want to join, which fairs to hit, and which pitching ideas to chase. I’m marking my calendar before I leave, drawing a clear line between before Italy and after Italy. The holidays will be around the corner once we’re back, and I want to be ready.
The next time you hear from me, it’ll be after we land back home at the beginnin of October brimming with Italian inspiration, stories, and maybe a few too many gelato tales to share!
Until then,
Silvina

I'm a mixed media artist living on the wild coast of Vancouver Island, originally from Argentina. My collages are built from torn paper, old maps, vintage letters—and memory. I create from the in-between: distance, connection, and belonging. My work is layered, emotional, and a little wild—just like life.
🎨 See what I’ve been working on! ✨
