wrapping up August

how are you doing today? heat wave here in Parksville again eh?!

Went swimming with my neighbour friend last night. It had been a very busy day with appointments and at about 5 pm I was restless. I needed to move and have some fun, so her message “are you home and need to de-stress? would a swim help?” was thrilling!

Do YOU find that you need to move in times of boredom? maybe stressing times or grief? I know I do!

Did I mention that I was a guest at a podcast last week?

Anxiety had creaped in the days prior. I reviewed some questions I knew I would be asked, drafted some answers, too notes, created flash cards with coloured pens of course, and did a practice run in the studio. I made sure I had a nice setup that could be viewed on camera: paintings on the easel, some on the table, lighting, and of course my new studio mic. Turned the zoom cam on and tested it out. It all seemed to be working.

Do you remember when we would have a test or exam at school? that one would study and read the material (or not 🙃) until there was nothing else one could do other than hope for the best? That's how I felt the night before, and even the entire day until the evening of the interview. I did not know what to do with myself!

the results?

the host was amazing, he asked really good questions, the atmosphere was relaxed, and I really felt like we connected. finding home in unexpected places

What else is happening in my life?

I facilitated a painting session at Innisfree Farm & Botanic Garden in Courtenay last weekend. It was a beautiful setting, very peaceful and inspiring. The proceeds were going towards L'Arche Support Society. It was a wonderful afternoon and got lots of content for the upcoming “walking for inspiration” video I'm editing.

…and then…

✨ It hit me out of nowhere, the irresistible itch to create, and luckily, I had four lonely wood panels waiting for their moment. A few days (and many coffee cups) later… here they are.

Here’s the thing:

if you are on my email list before August 31st, you get to grab one for $400 instead of their full $750 price that kicks in come September. I’ll set it aside for you.

And if you fall in love with one, but want to space out the cost, no problem. I’m happy to work out a simple payment plan so it’s easy to make it yours.

Four panels. One month. First come, first thrilled. 💫

Free print of the month:

Oh, and don’t forget—you’re automatically entered into my Free Print of the Month draw just for being on my email list. 🎉 In July, Anna P. took home her print, and now it’s your turn! August’s print is Familiar Coastlines—inspired by sketches I painted in Queenstown, NZ, and reminiscent of the West Coast, with layers of ocean blues and lush greens. Your name could be the one I announce next!

Got a friend with great taste? Hit forward and make their inbox prettier! 🎨

I'm a mixed media artist living on the wild coast of Vancouver Island, originally from Argentina. My collages are built from torn paper, old maps, vintage letters—and memory. I create from the in-between: distance, connection, and belonging. My work is layered, emotional, and a little wild—just like life.
🎨 See what I’ve been working on! ✨ I'm currently accepting commissions—get in touch
